Sunday morning is a critical and necessary time for every believer. But it is not enough. We all need regular opportunities for personal ministry and application of God's Word.
"For the body does not consist of one member but of many. . .as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose" (1 Cor. 12:14, 18).
To facilitate our connection with one another and to help one another apply God's truth to our lives, we have community groups - small groups of six to twenty adults that meet weekly in someone’s home. These groups often discuss a previous Sunday's message, a particular book of the Bible, or a book the group is studying together. The meetings may also include times of prayer for one another. Each community group meets in 12-week sessions.
Community groups are friendly and casual meetings that are open for anyone to come and visit. Click HERE for a list of the groups and to get plugged into one!
Children's Ministry (GraceKids)
GRACE Kids Children's Ministry exists to disciple our children, fulfilling the commandment in Deut. 6:7 "You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise."
We affirm that Christian parents are responsible for the primary training and development of their children. The children’s ministry of Sovereign Grace Pasadena exists purely to support parents' efforts and authority, to faithfully and effectively partner with parents in diligently teaching children about God and living in His Kingdom. We also want our children not to just know about God, but to know God, and develop a personal relationship with Him. To check out more details, check out our GraceKids page HERE.
G4L - Youth Group
Grounded for Life, or G4L, is our youth group ministry whose purpose is to help shape young adults so that they passionately live for Christ and faithfully apply the gospel of Christ to their lives. We seek to train and equip parents in their role of discipling their children; we endeavor also to train and equip youth to respond with Godward faith to their parents and culture. See details about the meetings HERE!
College and Career Ministry
Our College and Career Ministry meets one Sunday luncheon a month, which includes a short bible study (the luncheon dates can be found on the calendar HERE). The College and Career Ministry coordinates its own outreach and service events; these events take place every one to two months. The outreach events are primarily evangelistic, as they aim to provide opportunities for singles to draw others, especially unbelievers and seekers, into community with people who love Christ. The serving events have a particular focus on serving the church community as well as the community surrounding our local church. Follow the link HERE to go to our CCM page and get in contact with the leader.
The Women's Ministry at Sovereign Grace Pasadena is one shaped by the truth that God's Word is God speaking and that there is, therefore, nothing that women need more than the Word of God. We desire to be a community of warm, inviting, Bible-literate women whose lives testify to Christ and the Gospel in every facet.
Women's Ministry is pleased to announce that we will be hosting two Women's Events this year:
- Jan-Feb Hebrews Bible Study: Jesus is Better! (Click here for Audio and HERE for study questions.)
- April 29 . One Day Women's Retreat: How Does Your Garden Grow? (Click HERE for audio)

The Pantry is a ministry in our church where anyone with a need can stop by and pick up a bag of groceries. It's open Sundays after our Sunday service (around 11:30am). ALL are FREE to use this resource; you can even fill up a bag to give to someone you know.
Another way we seek to connect within the church is through serving. There are a variety of ways someone can get involved in the life of the church. Serving is an excellent way to both discover and strengthen particular gifts; it is also a wonderful way to make and build friendships. Some service opportunities range from working the coffee cart before and after Sunday service, volunteering in the church pantry ministry, children's ministry, youth group, community groups, to men's and women's ministry and much more; though some of these opportunities are restricted to members, there are many ways to connect before one becomes a member.
We practice church membership at Sovereign Grace Church Pasadena (SGCP). If you come and visit on a Sunday and sense that this may be a place that God is leading you, we encourage you to continue attending the Sunday meetings, to visit one or more of the community groups and to take our Discovery Seminar which will explain, in some detail, our beliefs and practices.
After you've taken the Discovery Seminar, our pastors will meet with you to answer any lingering questions you might have. Becoming a member at SGCP involves agreement with our statement of faith, not being under church discipline from another Christian church, and willingness to participate with our common practices as a church in a spirit of unity. If you agree with these things and believe that God would have you be a member of SGCP, then we would be excited to build and grow with you.
