glue sticks (1 per child)
Talk About Money
Say: Sometimes we find extra money lying around that doesn’t belong to anyone.
Ask: • Tell about a place you’ve found money. Kids may say they’ve found money on the sidewalk, in the couch, or on the floor in the car.
Say: There are lots of things we can do with money we find that doesn’t belong to anyone. One thing we can do is give the money to someone who needs it, because God loves a giving heart. If your children’s ministry collects for a special charity, take time to let kids know about it.
Make Colorful Coin Cups
Say: Let’s make something we can use to collect money to give to someone who needs it.
Give each child a cup, scissors, and a glue stick. Scatter the paper strips on the table. Encourage kids to cut or tear the paper into different shapes and glue the shapes onto the outside of their cups.
Say: We can take these colorful coin cups and put them in the cup holders in our cars or on the counter at home. Then, whenever we find some money lying around, we can drop it into the cups to give to someone who needs it. God loves a giving heart.
