What is G4L?

G4L is our youth ministry. It stands for Grounded for Life.
Deuteronomy 6:7 says, “and these words that I command you today
shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children”
(ESV). This puts the responsibility of a child’s discipleship squarely on
the shoulders of their parents. G4L’s role is to come alongside
parents to aid in the discipleship process through group Bible studies,
team-building activities, service projects, missions and evangelism
training. These strong foundations “ground” a child for a life that
honors God in thought, word and deed.

WHAT WE DO:

o Youth Gathering

We meet once a month (usually the second Sunday) from after the service-2:30 PM.

Parents, please pick up your teens at 2:30pm.

o Apologetics Training

We encourage our youth to attend the classes held before the
Sunday morning church service (8:45-9:30). Currently, Gordy Cucullu
is teaching a course in apologetics (defense of the Christian faith).

o Group Activities

Once a month, we have a get-together. We may go somewhere like
the beach, or we may just find a field and play flag football or Frisbee
golf. Whatever we do, there will always be food and fun!

 MARK YOUR CALENDARS!

1) We will be having a hike on Sunday, January 19 after church.  Let's try Bailey Canyon in Sierra Madre.  There are some picnic tables up there.  We can have lunch, then do a hike up the trail over there.  It comes highly recommended.  Let's meet there 45 minutes after church dismisses.  That'll give everyone a chance to go home and/or change into hiking attire.  If the weather is against us, we'll have plan B (TBA). Here's the link to the trail: http://www.cityofsierramadre.com/services/recreation/hiking
2) We will be temporarily putting our current study on hold and moving to a Bible book study.  We will be exploring the Gospel of John during the next few months.  On Sunday, we did John 1:1-5.  Please bring your Bibles (in whatever form you like) and spend some time reading the first few chapters of John before February.
3) Our next G4L study will be on Sunday, February 2 at the Robinsons' home.  I'll send you an address soon.
4) Pastor Lynn asked me to remind you all about the opportunity to serve on the Mexico Mission Trip, which has been postponed from February to later in the spring.  More details to follow.
